Explosion rocks mall in Banex Area of Abuja, Nigeria's capital

An explosion rocked a shopping mall in Nigeria's capital, Abuja, and witnesses say at least eight people have been killed.

The bomb, concealed in an Abuja Taxi, went off at Emab shopping center after it was dropped by an okada rider.

Aggrieved Chibok Women Storm Abuja, Protest At National Assembly

Aggrieved mothers and other indigenes of Chibok, Borno State, today in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital, staged a protest to demand the immediate rescue or release of the more than 200 secondary school girls abducted by suspected Boko Haram insurgents on April 14.

The protesters, most of them members of the Kibaku Development Association, Chibok, converged at Eagle Square in Nigeria’s capital. From there, they marched to the National Assembly to submit a protest letter. The women were led into the premises of the national legislature by a group of senior female police officers.

BREAKING NEWS! Explosion rocks popular park at Nyanya, Abuja.

A bomb is said to have exploded in a densely populated area in Nyanyan, Abuja. According to an eye witness, an improvised explosive device IED in a luxury Bus belonging to FCT exploded just before 7AM killing over 20 people and injuring several other who were around the popular park.

The eyewitness further said that  most of the other vehicles around the premises was set ablaze as a result of the explosion. Men of the federal fire service are battling to contain the situation.

INEC registry office, Abuja gutted by fire




Nigeria’s National Emergency Agency, NEMA has confirmed that only one office was gutted by fire in the Abuja national headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC in Abuja on Monday morning.
Ishaya Chonoko, Head of Abuja Operation Office of NEMA who confirmed that the fire incident occurred before noon said an office in the Annex Building of INEC was gutted in the incident.

Suspected Boko Haram members bomb SARS Headquarters in Abuja

Suspected Boko Haram members have attacked the headquarters of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, in Abuja, Premium Times reports.

Reports said the attack lasted for hours and the gunmen tried to free their members held in police custody.

Security operatives have already cordoned the Apo area of Abuja where the shooting took place.
