‘Fast and Furious’ Star Paul Walker Reported Dead in Car Crash

US actor Paul Walker who starred in the "Fast & Furious" series of action films has been killed in a car crash in California, his publicist says.

A statement on his Facebook page said Walker, 40, had been a passenger in a friend's car who appeared to have lost control of the Porsche GT and crashed into a lamp pole north of Los Angeles. This is contrary to reports by TMZ that the actor was reported to have died after "his" Porsche crashed and exploded.

Walker was said to be in the area on the outreaches of Los Angeles County for a car show benefiting the Philippines typhoon relief effort.
