The Kogi State Command of the department of State Security Service as arrested a clergyman, Reverend Godson Akubuiro, his children and his 15 man syndicate for printing and circulation of fake Naira notes
The state Director Security Service (SSS) Mr Mike Fubara told journalists that the major breakthrough came as a result of painstaking investigation for over four months which took the operatives of SSS to Ikorodu in Lagos where they were all arrested.
Fake currency printers and distributors used by the suspects were seized by the SSS.
He told journalist that the prime suspect reverend Godson Akubuiro who is the general overseer of the Mountain of Breakthrough Deliverance Ministry also known as land of solution located at plot 7 Mountain of Breakthrough Avenue Koya Estate, Igbo Olomu, Agric, Ikorodu Lagos had been into printing and circulating of fake Naira notes.
The University of Ilorin has expelled five students from the institution for alleged acts of misconduct.
The Disciplinary Committee of the institution said after due consideration of all evidence before it, it was convinced beyond reasonable doubt that the allegation of misconduct was established against the students.
Vice-Chancellor, UNILORIN, Prof. AbdulGaniyu Ambali, in an interview with journalists in Ilorin on Tuesday, confirmed the expulsion of the students.
He added that before any student could graduate, such must have been found worthy in learning and character.
According to him, students are being monitored from their first day on the campus till the last day. Besides, he said the university believed in upholding the rule of law.
He said, “We have various committees put in place to checkmate excesses either of the students or of the staff. We have rules and regulations guiding the conducts of staff and students on campus.”
