HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE GIDICULTURE FESTIVAL TO AIR ON CHANNEL O THIS SUNDAY

Music lovers descended on a transformed Elegushi private beach on Sunday 2nd March, 2014 for the Gidiculture festival, the biggest beach festival to hit Lagos.

British national kidnapped in Nigeria released

A Brit who was kidnapped last week Tuesday after arriving MMA Lagos airport was released on Sunday.

The man was kidnapped on July 16 by gunmen who attacked his car shortly after he left the airport's premises, his Nigerian driver was shot in the hand and the sum of $1million was demanded as ransom.

A combined team of operatives from the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, and their counterpart from the Special Intelligence Bureau, SIB, stormed an uncompleted two storey building at Okota Isolo area of Lagos State, rescuing the British national

"We can confirm the release of a British national today in Nigeria, following his abduction on 16 July," a statement from the British High Commission said, giving no further details.

Obama Motorcade Rider Killed By Truck


A police motorbike rider preparing to close a road for President Obama's motorcade is struck by a truck and killed. The officer died in West Palm Beach, Florida, on Sunday at around 4.45pm local time.
He was about to shut down Interstate 95 by the 45th Street exit when he was hit by a Ford F-150, according to Palm Beach County Sheriff's spokeswoman Teri Barbera.
He was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.
