The campaign is fronted by Habeeb Salawu (Hybrid Greenergies Consulting Ltd) who believes that the world is currently faced with a global energy dilemma. He believes that there are growing energy demands across the globe and this growth coupled with climate change and the depletion of fossil fuel resources requires an immediate solution. 

111-year-old Dr. Alexander Imich is world's oldest man

At 111 years old, Dr. Alexander Imich of New York City has been crowned the new world's oldest living man, according to Guinness World Records.

The world's oldest living person and oldest woman, Misao Okawa of Osaka, Japan is 116 years old; she was born on March 5, 1898. The longest a person has been known to live, at least an age that could be authenticated by Guinness World Records, is 122 years and 164 days; that person, Louise Calment of France, was born on Feb. 21, 1875, and died in a nursing home in Arles, France, on Aug. 4, 1997.

At least 7 people have been killed and more than 600 injured during the rallies so far. 

Nigeria Is Second Largest Carrier of HIV/Aids in the World - NACA

The Director General of the National Agency for the Control of AIDS (NACA), Professor John Idoko, Tuesday disclosed that with 3.4 million Nigerians living with HIV/AIDS, Nigeria has become the second largest country where the disease has afflicted so many people.

Idoko, who made this disclosure during a public hearing on a bill seeking an end to discrimination against HIV victims, said the ailment was more prevalent in 13 states.

Idoko, who noted that only 18 per cent of HIV positive women received prophylaxis treatment against mother-child transmission, noted that only 18 per cent of the 170 million population in the country had gone for HIV test, adding that more than 40 per cent of HIV positive persons do not know their status.

Civil Defence Commandant Can't Tell the world His Organisation's Web Address

The Lagos State Commandant of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corp (NSCDC) Obafaiye Shem has said that he has never visited his organisation's website.

Speaking as a guest on Channels Television's breakfast programme, Sunrise Daily, Mr Shem said the website opened by impostors to defraud unsuspecting job seekers would be automatically closed.

Asked to mention the NSCDC's web address, Mr Shem said "I cannot categorically tell you one now." Probed further to name the organisation's website, the commandant said the address is: www.nscdc.

A Channels Television's reporter checked the web address and noticed that it was incorrect. Further search on the internet showed that the correct web address for the Civil Defence Corp is www.nscdc.gov.ng .
