From National Tribune
OGUN State government, on Wednesday, suspended the principal of Ajuwon High School, Iju- Ajuwon, in Ifo Local Government Area of the state, Mrs Olufunke Aladejobi, who was alleged to have conducted virginity test on some female students of the school.

In a statement signed by the state Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Mr Segun Odubela, made available to newsmen, the principal was suspended, following a preliminary investigation conducted by the ministry.

Odubela said the ministry had invited and interrogated the principal to give her fair hearing, while a five-man panel consisting of officials of both the ministry and Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) had been set up to further investigate the case and make appropriate recommendations on the matter.

The panel, he said, was given 14 days to submit its report.

Odubela added that government was always concerned about the welfare and interest of the students and, therefore, would not tolerate any act that would compromise their fundamental rights or jeopardise their future.
