Peter Jackson changes third Hobbit film title

Director Peter Jackson has announced the news that his third instalment of The Hobbit franchise has had a new name, and rather than The Hobbit: There And Back Again, it is called, The Hobbit: The Battle Of Five Armies.

“Our journey to make The Hobbit Trilogy has been in some ways like Bilbo’s own, with hidden paths revealing their secrets to us as we’ve gone along. ‘There and Back Again’ felt like the right name for the second of a two film telling of the quest to reclaim Erebor, when Bilbo’s arrival there, and departure, were both contained within the second film. But with three movies, it suddenly felt misplaced—after all, Bilbo has already arrived “there” in the ‘Desolation of Smaug’.

“When we did the premiere trip late last year, I had a quiet conversation with the studio about the idea of revisiting the title. We decided to keep an open mind until a cut of the film was ready to look at. We reached that point last week, and after viewing the movie, we all agreed there is now one title that feels completely appropriate.

“And so: ‘The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies’ it is.”

Brazil trounce Spain 3-0 to win third straight Confederations Cup title

Brazil has humbled world and European Champions Spain with a crushing 3-0 win in the Confederations Cup final, ending their opponents’ three-year record run of 29 unbeaten competitive matches.

Fred scored two goals and Neymar added another as host Brazil convincingly defeated world champion Spain 3-0 to win the Confederations Cup on Sunday at the Maracana Stadium.

Brazil got off to a brilliant start when a long ball into the Spanish box was misplayed by defender Álvaro Arbeloa, he actually brought the ball down with a handball — knocked the ball down onto Fred’s foot who was lying on the ground in front of Iker Casillas. The ball ended up right on Fred’s foot as the Fluminense striker lifted the ball up and over Casillas to give the Seleção a 1-0 lead in the 2nd minute.

Neymar added to the lead just before halftime and Fred netted his fifth goal in five matches early in the second half to give Brazil victory. The win for the host nation was surprisingly easy against the current world champion.

Sunday’s performance marks what has been an impressive tournament for the Brazilians. With their home crowd behind them, they’re already favorites to win next summer’s big show.
