Governor Sullivan Chime returns to Enugu



Thousands of people trooped to the streets in Enugu today to welcome Governor Sullivan Chime who has been out of the country for medical treatment. The Governor away for 140 days.

The governor, who had arrived Abuja, Wednesday, from London, touched down at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu, around 3.00pm  on Friday amid cheers from the crowd of enthusiastic citizens who had thronged the airport since morning to welcome him.

He was welcomed by the acting governor, Mr Sunday Onyebuchi, accompanied by his wife, Nneka, National and state assembly members and other top government officials.

He was Spotted wearing a cream white jacket, blue stripped shirt and a pair of black trousers, Governor Chime acknowledged cheers from the crowd that also included traditional rulers and top government officials before being driven to the Governor’s Lodge.

Chime arrived the country on Thursday but stayed back in an Abuja hotel before proceeding to Enugu today. His Cross Rivers and Taraba State counterparts Liyel Imoke and Suntai respectively are still outside the country for medical reasons.
