TUNDE KELANI’S MAAMI SET TO BE SCREEN AT OBASANJO LIBRARY IN ABEOKUTA + COMING TO THE NATIONAL ART THEATRE THIS RAMADAN HOLIDAY




Tunde Kelani’s latest movie is billed for premiere at the Main Auditorium, OlusegunObasanjo Presidential Library,(OOPL) , Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, Ogun State in celebration of Eid-el- Fitri.
Maami, starring award winning actress, Funke Akindele as lead is thestory of a poor single parent and her young son, (Ayomide Abatti). Gifted with a loving heart, enterprising spirit and brave soul, she is the centre of her son’sworld; until he longs for the father he has never known, a man with a terrible past. 
Maami is an inspiring story of a poor, conscientious single parent’s struggle to raise her only child, Kashimawo, who, eventually rises to international stardom in an English football club, Arsenal, and becomes a national hero. 

Adapted by Tunde Babalola from Femi Osofisan’s novel of the same title, depict love, perseverance, and fate which unfold through Kashimawo’s reminiscences of his hard scrabble childhood in the town of Abeokuta.




Meanwhile, Maami has been scheduled to screen at some select viewing centres in Lagos to celebrate the Eid-el-Fitri between August 18-21,2012. The centres include the National Theatre, Iganmu, Lagos, Durban Hotel, beside Murhi International, Omole, Ikeja and Big Zone Hotel, Agric Bus Stop, Ikorodu,Lagos.
