Nigeria's Got Talent: Port Harcourt Makes It Through To The Next Stage

Xscape Centre, Port Harcourt proved a haven of sorts as thousands of hopefuls flooded the venue in a bid to secure selected spots in the third phase of the on going regional auditions.

The event, which held on Tuesday, October 15, 2013, witnessed an impressive turnout from magicians, dancers, comics, singers, rappers, fire-eaters, acrobats and many more talents who came armed with only one mission in mind; to make it to the prized theatre auditions scheduled to hold in Lagos.

“The 3rd leg of auditions in Port Harcourt was an explosion of wild, unique and daring talents. I can assure viewers this season that they will be blown away by the impressive level of talent that will be presented when the show is ready for airing,” confirmed Ugochi Pedro  Optima Media Group's Head of Legal and Director of Special Projects.

Several acts displayed enormous talent worthy of praise; one act though left the judges mesmerized at their gracefulness and level of professionalism. The Amazing Dancers, a dance group comprising children aged between 2 and 15 earned a standing ovation from the judges and resounding applause from viewers. “You moved like professionals, yet graced the stage like angels,” emphasized one of the judges.

And not giving up on their dreams of winning the grand prize were a few hopefuls from last season of the competition. “I know I have a very different and unique talent that wasn’t really appreciated last season. I have gone back to my drawing board to sharpen my skills so as to impress the judges this season, especially Dan Foster,” says Melani a contestant who plays the saxophone with the aid of her mouth and fingers.

Enugu will host the auditions next on October 17, Asaba on October 19, Benin on October 21, Ibadan on October 23 and Lagos on October 26 and 27, 2013.
